Put Your Pants On, Louisiana

Caddo Parish in Louisiana is considering putting a ban on wearing pajama pants in public after a PJ-pant wearing patron had their junk fall out at Walmart in front of some old people.

Interestingly enough this wouldn’t be the first time that the Shreveport area has instituted a clothing related ordinance. More than 31 instances were reported after the 2011 “no-sagging” law went into effect. Police were rounding up citizens guilty of “wearing of pants below the waist in public.”

World’s Oldest Divorcees Separate After 77 Years of Marriage

While going through an old chest of drawers in his house, a 99-year-old man discovered love letters written from his wife to another man during a secret affair in the 1940’s. Harboring a guilty conscience after all these years, the wife confessed everything prompting her husband of nearly eight decades to file court papers asking for a divorce.

The couple met in the 1930’s while the man was posted as a young Carabinieri officer to Naples. They have five children, a dozen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Teenage Marijuana Use on the Rise

The number of high school students smoking weed on a daily basis is at a 30-year high. Meanwhile the number of students drinking, smoking or snorting coke is on the decrease! Progress!

The study, conducted by the NIH shows that about 25% of 8th, 10th and 12th graders (what, no 11th graders?) are smoking the marijuana cigarettes, up from 21% four years ago. Drinking has fallen by almost half amongst 8th graders and is steadily dropping in the other demos as well.

Clerical Error Results in a Murder Suspect Going Free

A simple legal clerical error may end up sending a Texas murder suspect home free.

Richard Mendoza Jr. was arrested in August for the murder of his teenage classmate back in 2002. But because the District Attorney’s office somehow forgot to file paperwork against him within the 90 day window after his arrest a judge had no alternative but to let the man go. He was released on $75,000 bond, but it’s a type of bond that requires no down payment.
