An 81-year-old man has reached an agreement with prosecutors over charges of sexual battery and practicing medicine without a license after he apparently went door to door offering women free in-home breast exams. Yeah, turns out that’s not a real thing. It’s not known at this time if he’ll see any jail time.
Phillip Winikoff showed up to random women’s houses carrying a black bag (you know, for legitimacy) and was offering free breast exams to screen for “breast cancer.” It seems that the Women’s Breast Health Initiative had in fact just started door to door canvassing, handing out information to women in the neighborhood. But of course all of their employees were women and they never offered any “free exams.” Authorities think this may have led to some confusion.
The first victim, 36 at the time, told detectives he started the exam by fondling her breasts, and she knew something was wrong when his hands wandered elsewhere.
Yeah, it seems that if your breast exam involves some old guy double clicking your mouse it might not be a legit thing. Just a heads up.
